Susan Sinford founded The Canine Outpost to bridge the gap between medical understanding and real-world boarding. Her approach starts not with kennels, but with behavior.
Her career began in the veterinary field, first completing the Veterinary Technician Program at Modesto Junior College and later earning a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Health from Liberty University. Years of clinical experience taught her to see what traditional boarding often misses: stress signals, the need for structured rest, and the difference between a tired dog and an emotionally fulfilled one.
Today, she applies that clinical eye to enrichment-based daycare, Puppy Preschool, and Fear Free handling — always guided by her core belief: "Play with Purpose. Stay with Care."
Through this blog, Susan shares insider knowledge on dog behavior, confidence-building, and the small changes that transform a dog’s happiness. No fluff. Just veterinary-informed, real-world advice from a small business owner who’s with the dogs every day.
